How We Re-Created the Look

With industrial pipe shelves and a front-and-center chalkboard, our re-created version retains the look of the inspiration but shifts the focus to comfort with plush seating.

Opt for Industrial

The shelf construction starts with ready-made frames that have the look of industrial pipe.

Get in the Right Head Space

When placing the shelves on the wall, it’s important to allow plenty of room for seating. Test out the space to be sure no heads will bump on the shelves above.

Level Up

The shelf frame attaches to the wall at the industrial-look flanges. Be sure to use a level when marking holes for the flange placement.

Secure the Shelf

The shelves slide onto the pipes and are then secured to the frame.

Make It Comfy

We started with built-in bench seating, but a standalone bench would also work. Whatever the base, cushions turn bench seating from functional to comfortable.
