Light, Airy Dining Room

To help the dining room maintain its airy feeling despite its small space, designers used a glass top table with a sculptural wood base. The finish on the dining chair legs are painted so that they coordinated with the chandelier, while the upholstery adds the texture and black and gray contrast that is carried throughout these two spaces.

Peninsula Adds Definition to Kitchen and Hallway Spaces

The homeowners wanted an open space in their newly remodeled home, but they didn't want their spaces to feel jumbled, so designers achieved this feel in the kitchen by using the cabinets to set the parameters for the space. To create this definition, a peninsula was added on the third "wall" of the kitchen, separating the it from the hallway without making either space feel too closed off, giving each area its own identity.

Glass Walls Create Light, Airy Kitchen

The homeowners wanted a light, airy kitchen space that blends into the outdoor entertainment space. To help achieve this goal, designer Christen Ales installed walls of windows to separate the indoor and outdoor spaces. This feature allows plenty of beautiful natural light into the space to reflect off of the neutral color palette, creating the feel the homeowners desired.

Warmth and Texture in Neutral Kitchen Design

To add warmth to the white kitchen, designers added White Oak detail around the space's upper cabinet. This addition plays nicely off the White Oak flooring. Subtle texture throughout the space, in details such as the white herringbone tile backsplash and the gray and black veining in the quartzite countertop, kept the space feeling light and airy, while contrast was used sparingly and the Turkish Kilim rug adds pattern and a playful, cheery style to the otherwise neutral color scheme.
