This Georgia-style farmhouse has an elegant exterior and beautiful mountain surroundings, so to replicate this natural beauty on the interior of the home, Ascher Davis Architects created a design that capitalized on the home's setting. Designers chose a modern look that was less fussy and formal than the initial design. It included simple, elegant trim work and a neutral color palette that would bring the lush green colors of the outside indoors. This way, the entire home would function as a piece of the mountains. 

The exterior of this home is reminiscent of a Georgia farmhouse, so as a nod to this design and to help the family's sustainability, designers created raised bed gardens around the pool. Now, the family can enjoy the Southern air while growing their own herbs and vegetables for their kitchen.

To capitalize on the incredible view these homeowners have in their backyard, designers created a simple, elegant design for the family's outdoor space. Designers wanted the backyard to feel as if it were an uninterrupted part of the hills that surround it, so the pool's shape is a straight rectangle that draws the eye to the hills. Stone tiles are laid at the front of the outdoor space for safety, but grass picks up about a quarter of the way down the length of the pool, making the area blend into the mountains beyond. So that the family can enjoy their space, designers created a lounge area and a dining area, making this space the perfect place for relaxation and play in these beautiful NY hills. 

On the back porch, the family has a great space for entertaining and spending time with each other. An extra large sectional sofa sits in front of a beautiful stone fireplace that provides plenty of heat on cool fall nights in New York. There is also a dining area on the back porch so that the homeowners can enjoy their beautiful mountain views while eating a good meal.
