This Family Home Is a Private Sanctuary With Hip Details

Designer Morgan Boszilkov and her two children Beckett and Vivienne hang out in their cozy, Scandi-chic nook off of the family's open kitchen. The Boszilkov-Lindsey family live in a 4,300 square foot Cape Dutch-style home in the sustainable Serenbe community outside Atlanta. Morgan is an artist and designer whose creative eye played a big part in designing this stunning family home. Her handcrafted clay tiles and both her and her husband Scott Lindsey's artwork can be seen throughout the home.

Every room in the Boszilkov-Lindsey home seems to offer a more spectacular view than the last. A dining room table found at an Atlanta antique show is complemented by pieces from West Elm and Restoration Hardware.

The open kitchen and living room offer a view to a third-level loft where the roof-like peak of the ceiling creates the feeling of a home within a home.

The Boszilkov-Lindsey home has the feel of a sanctuary nestled in the trees. The main entrance is on the second level, which gives a protected, fortress-like feel to the 4,300 square foot space. The home sits on a corner lot facing a forest, which affords the family even more privacy.

The prevalence of wood, on the dramatic staircase and the found wood table give the Boszilkov-Lindsey home an on-trend Scandinavian-meets-bohemian vibe.

What better way to enliven a mundane task like washing, folding and ironing than a brightly colored laundry room? The family chose a punchy minty-green to accent their hidden-away first-floor laundry area.

Clown portraits by Morgan's mother in an upstairs hallway alcove are part of the eclectic, charming and very personal aesthetic that defines the home.

Bunkbeds for guests or just a cozy place to read are hidden behind curtains in the upstairs hallway. A wide drawer below is a handy place to stash toys.`

Natural elements are a big feature of the Boszilkov-Lindsey home, from wood cabinets and shelves in this stunning bathroom, to spectacular views of the woods beyond. Small round his-and-her mirrors are a clever way to circumvent the windows. The master bathroom also features a sauna, whose door can be seen on the left.

Large windows flood the home with light, and the emphasis on light-colored furnishings and natural wood — as in this master bedroom — lend a relaxing, organic, retreat-like feel to the entire home.

Vintage elements like a metal card catalogue and wooden flat file blend well with more contemporary elements in the home thanks to an edited approach to design.

Directly outside the kitchen and living area of the Boszilkov-Lindsey home, the patio features a large daybed swing, teak furniture and an outdoor fireplace featuring tiles made by Morgan.

Morgan has a ground floor art studio where she made the beautiful arabesque tiles found on the outdoor fireplace, in the family's kitchen and in the third-level guest bathroom. Many Serenbe residents use a room to support a home-based business. Morgan teaches pottery classes in her studio but other Serenbe residents offer massage or skincare services from their homes in this vibrant live-work community.
