Gather Mittens and Add Twine
Gather 24 toddler-sized mittens (Image 1). Tip: You can usually find mittens for $1 each at arts and crafts or fabric stores. Use hot glue to attach a small twine loop to the cuff of each mitten (Image 2).
Create Calendar
Print out 24 numbers small enough to tuck into each mitten. Cut them out using scissors or a paper cutter. Tip: Add a sweet sentiment below each number for a little extra holiday happiness.
Thread Twine and Hang Garland
Unravel a piece of twine longer than the length of your mantel and thread each of the mittens onto it (Image 1). Use flat-headed thumbtacks to hang the mitten garland from your mantel. Slide a paper number into each mitten (Image 2).
