Materials Needed:

  • 5-liter, 8.5” glass flask
  • flask stand
  • Edison light bulb, 30 watt
  • 10” glass plate

Purchase Supplies

Purchase a 5-liter glass flask and flask stand at www.onlinesciencemall.com and a 30-watt Edison light bulb at 1000bulbs.com (S21 Edison Style). You can find a 10” glass plate online at anchorhocking.oneida.com.

Go to Your Local Glass Store

Ask them to cut a 4” inch round hole into the bottom of your beaker, large enough so your light bulb will fit through the opening.

Visit a Lighting Expert

Have the beaker wired at your local lighting store. Consider a dimmer switch so you can adjust the lighting.
