A king-sized smart bed sits center stage in this contemporary main bedroom, with four solar powered “fresh air” skylights and invigorating green walls and ceiling. “It is almost a forest green, but it has a little bit of blue in it, so it’s a little bit more colorful and less dramatic,” says designer Brian Patrick Flynn. “I love the idea of playing with a color you don’t usually associate with coastal style.”

A 48-inch solid wood console table with a distressed white finish does double duty as a nightstand on each side of the bed. The two-door slider consoles offer a stylish way to store bedside essentials, like favorite books, boxes of facial tissue, or hand lotion.

The bed frame’s headboard and footboard include segmented panels of woven banana leaf that add wonderful texture. The 34-inch high bronze table lamps on each nightstand also include a white drum shade with textured trim.
