HGTV Dream Home 2018: Modern and Minimal

The kitchen’s easy style relies on a clean design and well-chosen materials instead of lots of decoration. "The kitchen is probably the most modern or contemporary thing in the house, mostly because it’s kind of minimal," says designer Brian Patrick Flynn. "But it’s minimal because there’s so much architecture."

Powerful Cooktop

The kitchen’s 6-burner, pro-style cooktop has a stainless steel hood above that keeps odors and smoke out of the adjoining living area.

Top-Notch Appliances

A stainless steel, pro-style convection oven is one of the top-notch appliances in this kitchen made for preparing chef-inspired meals at home. Three drawers below and a cabinet above the oven offer easy-access storage for cookie sheets and baking pans.

Organized Pantry

The kitchen includes a new walk-in pantry that offers organized storage space for dry goods, serving plates, bowls and more.

HGTV Dream Home 2017: Chic and Woodsy

The open kitchen, perfect for entertaining, has a woodsy chic vibe with a rich color palette of brown, gray and forest green inspired by the lush landscape outside.

Integrated Breakfast Nook

A generously sized and integrated breakfast nook that can seat up to six provides a comfortable and stylish spot for a casual meal.

Top-Notch Appliances

The fully equipped kitchen includes a 36-inch six-burner stainless range with electric self-cleaning oven with nine functions, including convection, baking, roasting and warming. A stainless microwave drawer right next door makes it easy to warm up soups or a quick morning bowl of oatmeal.

Front-Row Seat

The industrial-style barstools not only provide seating for light snacks or a quick meal, but also give guests a way to visit with the cook during dinner parties.

HGTV Dream Home 2016: Elegance Abounds

Not beachy at all, the kitchen is a study in elegant dark and light tones accented with shiny metal that adds an elegant touch.

Room to Work

There’s ample counter space for preparing meals and displaying kitchen essentials. The clean, cool colors make it a welcoming, calming space

Store It

Pull out shelves in the long cabinets beside the double wide refrigerator hold pots and pans within reach of the cook.

Cool and Clean

A clean, white, marbled surface on the kitchen island is the perfect backdrop for the patinated brass gooseneck faucet and under mounted sink. There’s ample room here for casual dining, too.

Go Pro

The industrial looking range hood and chefs stove give the kitchen a restaurant feel and function for preparing meals for family and friends.

HGTV Dream Home 2015: Made for Entertaining

Your first experience when walking into HGTV Dream Home 2015, the charming kitchen is the ideal space for meal prep, entertaining and even dining. "This whole room is so beautiful in the detailing and the trim," explains the home’s interior designer Linda Woodrum. "And I think that’s really important to notice."

Stunning White Kitchen With French Doors

A pair of French doors leads to a lovely patio and allows plenty of natural light to flood the space, making the HGTV Dream Home 2015 kitchen a bright, cheery place to spend time.

Stunning White Kitchen With Open Living Space

In HGTV Dream Home 2015, the open kitchen leads straight to the dining room, making the entire home feel bright and airy. According to the home's interior designer Linda Woodrum, the kitchen “is part of the party. You’re not isolated, and I think that’s how people want to live.”

HGTV Dream Home 2014: Contemporary Cabin

This contemporary kitchen at HGTV Dream Home 2014 features a warm neutral color palette with a reclaimed wood tile backsplash, stainless steel appliances and sleek black shaker-style cabinetry. Open stainless steel shelving displays glassware and serving pieces, and a mix of textures, from glass to steel to wood, lend visual interest.

Now THAT'S a Kitchen Island

Brilliant fall foliage inspired the bright yellow hue of the leather upholstery that covers a series of bar stools in the open concept kitchen. They cozy up to a granite island that's nearly 16 feet long.

Espresso Station

Who wouldn't like to wake up to a deluxe coffee machine?

Stainless Steel Cooktop For the At-Home Chef

The 6-burner, commercial-style cooktop is the ideal spot to cook up a hearty breakfast — there's even a griddle for assembly-line flapjacks. Double ovens offer ample space to prepare meals for a crowd.

HGTV Dream Home 2013: Go Green

In this transitional kitchen, German-manufactured cabinetry clads both the nearly 8-foot-long island and a unit that houses the refrigerator and pantry-style storage bins. Ecru pine cabinets complements both countertops and stainless steel fixtures.

Cabinet and Storage Space

With space to store spices, canned goods and small appliances, a mini pantry makes smart use of storage space.

Kitchen Island Range

The rich saturated hue of bamboo flooring stands out against the room's palette of gray, white and green, a color collection that echoes the home's natural surroundings.

HGTV Dream Home 2012: Kitchen and Dining With a View

With its expansive offering of windows, this casual dining room provides a great view of the outdoors. The trestle-style pine dining table is just a few steps from a quartz-topped kitchen island.

Contemporary Kitchen Island and Large Stove

Homeowners can cook with ease with this convenient kitchen layout from HGTV Dream Home 2012. An island with a built-in sink sits across from the stove, making it simple to turn from one to the other without ever having to step away.

Vibrant Backsplash

Blue tile backsplash is a perfect look with these amazing white cabinets.

Under-Stove Storage

Under-stove storage shelves make space for large yet essential kitchen appliances, pots and pans.

Cooling Drawers

Cooling drawers provide a place for produce and drinks, plus they free up space in the refrigerator.

Lush Life

Wine chiller: a great addition to any kitchen.

HGTV Dream Home 2011: Mountain Views

The rustic eat-in kitchen in HGTV Dream Home 2011 is large enough for gathering and entertaining. To maximize the mountain views, dining room furnishings are kept to a minimum.

Modern Kitchen Island with Metallic Accents and Frosted Glass

This large modern kitchen island is perfect for entertaining with ample seating for casual gatherings and full sit-down meals. A large workspace complete with stainless steel hood and range and full kitchen sink make meal preparation a visually appealing experience. The ample white countertop balances the metallic accents of the space and stylish metal and frosted glass cabinetry of the storage underneath lend to the overall design of the room.

With a color palette inspired by the bark of the birch tree, the kitchen serves as both entertainment and gathering space.

Glass-Front Refrigerator and Sleek Cabinetry

Maple cabinetry in a charcoal finish counterbalances maple pre-finished hardwood flooring in this upscale kitchen.

Warming Drawers

Wolf 30-inch undercounter warming and microwave drawers offer the ultimate in convenience when cooking for a crowd.

HGTV Dream Home 2010: Gourmet Glass Kitchen

A 16-foot wall of glass tile makes a dramatic statement in the gourmet kitchen. "I think that wall is an artistic piece that is the wow factor in that room — after the views," notes interior designer Linda Woodrum.

Pro Appliances + Waterlust Hues

Cooking for large gatherings is accommodated with both Wolf induction and gas cooktops and a 2-gallon-capacity Wolf steamer, which features a temperature range of 140 degrees to boil and includes one solid and one perforated stackable insert pan.

Enlarged Kitchen Island

This long island works as an ample workspace that can comfortably seat five for a meal.

Upscale Refrigerator + Freezer

The sleek modern Wellborn cabinetry in a rich cherry finish conceals appliances, including dual Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezers designed to be built in flush with the cabinetry.

HGTV Dream Home 2009: Social Cooking Space

The gourmet kitchen in Dream Home 2009 is designed with the busy host in mind. "I love that the kitchen really works as a kitchen and then when lots of people are over it will accommodate tons of people and still function," interior designer Linda Woodrum says. "People in Sonoma really celebrate the joy of food and wine so we wanted to acknowledge that when we created the Dream Home kitchen."

Modern Meets Traditional

The gourmet space’s clean and modern feel comes courtesy of gray Silestone countertops and backsplash which blend seamlessly into the dovetail gray walls.

Dinner Made Easy

This kitchen features a Wolf microwave, nested between the wine storage units and stacked above a handy warming drawer, which keeps dishes delicious when guests run late.

HGTV Dream Home 2008: Modern Take

For the kitchen, interior designer Linda Woodrum created a sleek modern space accented with rustic art. It's a well-defined space, yet very open to the living and dining areas of the second-floor great room. A U-shaped, sand-colored countertop runs from the pantry door along the back wall, then turns below three square windows and back to form a peninsula dividing the kitchen from the dining area.

Neutral Traditional Kitchen With Tile Wall

Task lighting is integral to preparing food as demonstrated by the well-lit, long counter in this traditional kitchen. Glass cabinets provide visual dish storage against the full, small tile accent wall.

Professional Gas Range

The business end of the kitchen is a professional-grade gas range with stainless-steel finish. The stove is topped with a matching stainless-steel range hood, and a pot filler faucet extends out from the back wall, making it easy to put some water on to boil and cook up some fresh shrimp or lobster. Other appliances include a large microwave mounted below the counter and a stainless-steel dishwasher.

HGTV Dream Home 2007: Casual Yet Elegant

This kitchen combines a serious amount of form and function to create a professional, family-oriented kitchen.

Adding Texture

A counter and backsplash that are the same color but made of different materials bring additional texture to the kitchen.

Complementing Colors

The designer, Linda Woodrum, thought fleetingly of red counters, "but that seemed too Early American," she says. "I was dealing with a lot of wood, and I'd already made a commitment to big, strong, powerful blue elsewhere in the house. Blue is a little more sophisticated, and it's great with wood. Plus it contrasts beautifully with all of nature's greens and browns just outside the window."

Hidden Refrigerator

The spacious Sub-Zero refrigerator features custom panels so it blends beautifully with the cabinetry. A separate bar refrigerator is tucked under the counter across the room for easy access to cold drinks. The hidden fridge sits under a counter tiled in deep blue, natural quartz Silestone.

HGTV Dream Home 2006: Falling for More

This kitchen ushers you in with the warm, welcoming notes of fall, a reflection of the seasonal theme that flows throughout the house.

Cottage Kitchen with Cream Cabinets

A pro-grade stainless steel refrigerator gives a contemporary touch to this cottage kitchen where a butcher block-topped island makes the kitchen cozy and functional.

Kitchen Sink Area Surrounded by Windows

The corner of this kitchen features traditional white cabinets, a dishwasher and a stainless steel double sink topped by paned windows.

HGTV Dream Home 2005: Open and Inviting

This Texas-sized kitchen with creamy limestone and shiny stainless steel appliances has a modern restaurant-style look.

Gorgeous Accessories

On top of the dual dishwashers, sinks and refrigerators, the center granite-topped island is a wide workspace that will allow family and friends to pitch in and either prepare or clean up alongside each other. The big freezerless refrigerator in the kitchen holds plenty of room for perishables, while the freezer in the pantry serves as the perfect companion.

Restaurant-Style Amenities

There is two of everything — dishwashers, refrigerators (one large refrigerator and one large freezer) and sinks, along with a professional gas range surrounded by dramatic Texas limestone.

HGTV Dream Home 2004: Victorian Kitchen

This dreamy white kitchen has a flow that connects well with the rest of the home.

Ample Storage Space

All of the pieces have a myriad of drawers and shelves, providing ample space for food and cookware. The stainless-steel appliances are located on one wall (with a dishwasher tucked into the island), giving the kitchen and great room spaces the sense that it's filled with furniture.
