Focal Point
A large, custom made string art piece of a marlin jumping out of the water is a focal point in the terrace suite bathroom. It lends a beach-like feel to the room.
Coastal Color Combo
Adjoining the terrace suite bedroom, which is painted in all white, is a bathroom. The color scheme features layers of coastal blue to provide a cohesive look between the spaces.
Thrifty Alternative
Cobalt blue penny round tiles with contrasting white grout lines the interior of the shower. It lends a beachy feel to the room and pairs well with the French blue painted walls of the space.
Crisp Lines
The squared off edges of the stainless shower head matches the crisp edge design of the hardware on the vanity, the towel hooks on the wall and the faucet for the sink.
Sleek and Simple
The sharp angles of the shower head and water valve offers a sleek look and contrasts with the penny round tiles on the shower walls.
Art Piece
Looking more like art than function, the stainless water valve in the shower makes a bold statement on the wall.
Niche Work
Nestled in the wall between the studs is a fully tiled niche box. The perfect spot to hold accessories like scrub brushes, shower gels and shampoo.
Hooked Up
Stainless robe hooks used to hold towels take up less room on the wall than a towel bar. Pure white towels add a clean, beach feel to the room.
White is Right
The soft hue of the French blue painted walls is the perfect backdrop for white accessories like towels and a white painted wood stool.
Bleached Beach
Used throughout the house for cohesiveness, the floors have a bleached look that looks more like faded wood. In the terrace suite bathroom, they lend a driftwood appearance tying in the beach feel of the space.
For Arts Sake
At six feet tall, the negative space string art piece featuring a marlin jumping out of the water was custom created by one of the carpenters on the HGTV Dream Home 2016 project.
In the Details
In this detail shot, you can clearly see the outline of the marlin image is dotted with needle like finishing nails. String was then attached to the nails and crisscrossed to form the image of the fish.
Storage for Days
The white cabinetry of the vanity offers plenty of storage of bathing and grooming products. The counter top surface offers ample room for more products and accessories.
Modern Classics
You can't go wrong with squared off stainless hardware shown here on the vanity. It will never go out of style and offers a modern take on a classic look.
A Sinking Feeling
The sleek sink offers a clean look to the counter top.
Clean Lines
The stainless faucet of the sink matches the hardware on the vanity in which sits.
Less is More
The simple pull-up roman shade on the window resembles an awning in classic wide stripes.
Shine On
In keeping with the maritime feel of the bathroom, this light sconce resembles those found on ocean going vessels.
Square Deal
The angular design of the stainless sink faucet and white framed mirror compliments the round penny tiles on the wall.
All Together Now
The blue painted walls and crisp white trim of the bathroom is echoed in the blue-gray bedding in the adjoining terrace bedroom.
