Perfect for Lounging
The raised pool patio and the outdoor living area are separated by a bank of Floridian palm trees to create distinctly different rooms on the lanai.
Step Outside
Just outside the kitchen door is the covered lanai and pool which is surrounded by pinkish gray pavers. The lanai has a dining area with a resin capped table and comfy chairs. An entertaining area nearby is set up like an outdoor living room.
Sun Spot
A raised sun deck area is furnished with teak wood lounge chairs, a cushioned bench and accent tables. It affords a view of the river and the pool.
Sofa so Good
A classically styled teak wood sofa is made more comfortable with weather resistant striped fabric cushions and accent pillows.
Pattern Pairs
Subtle shades of blue and gray stripes pair well with the herringbone pattern soft teal accent pillows on the outdoor sofa.
Pool Reno
Updated, a 1990s style hot tub was removed from the existing pool. It now resembles a calming reflecting pond set into the pavers on the back patio.
Dipping Down
Earth-toned bull-nosed paving stones form the coping around the pool. The smooth edge seems to cascade into the water.
Whimisical Waterfall
A small cascading water feature now spills into the pool where a 1990s hot tub was once positioned. The sound of the moving water creates a calming effect.
Old World Ambiance
Selected for their pinkish gray hues, the engineered stone pavers give an Old World look to the patio and lanai in the back of the house and resemble natural stone.
Living Outdoors
One area of the pool patio is set up as an outdoor living room complete with a teak wood cushioned sofa and chairs around a large metal coffee table.
Tanning Area
A graceful palm tree lends a bit of shade to the raised sun deck area of the backyard patio. Comfortable cushioned lounge chairs allow for hours of sunning.
Expect Showers
An outdoor shower tucked into the corner of the outdoor living space provides a place to wash off beach sand.
Offered Up
Towels and bathing essentials are offered inside the outdoor shower for friends and family to use.
Just Hooked
Aged bronze hooks, a material similar to others used inside the home, are attached to the inside wall of the outdoor shower to hold towels.
Style Sport
No style was spared even in the outdoor shower. An aged bronze toned shower wand allows for friend and family to wash all the beach sand off before a plunge in the pool.
Open Wide
A wide door to the outdoor shower tucked into the corner of the back patio allows for privacy when in use.
Dogs Welcome Home
An large architectural dog house mimics the look, feel and color palette of the main house.
Detail Replay
Beefy pillars and Chippendale style railings on the doghouse echo those details found on the front of the main house.
High and Dry
The blue-gray painted metal ridged roof on the doghouse makes sure it will stay dry in rainy weather. Its color matches the trim colors on the main house.
Airflow
Working mini wood shutters allow fresh air to enter the doghouse. They resemble those used on the main house and are painted in the same blue-gray color.
Big Dogs Allowed
The doghouse even has its own paver walkway leading to the entrance.
Time to Grow
Newly installed palm trees in the backyard will mature over time to help cast some shade from the hot Florida sun.
Inside Out Design
Outdoor spaces need indoor touches to make them feel more welcoming. A potted plant and magazines on the coffee table of the outdoor living area does the job.
Fully Equipped
Fresh white towels, a wide-brim sun hat and dark shades allow friends and family to sit for hours on the lounge chairs on the sun deck.
Serene Scene
It’s about 200 feet to rivers edge from the back of the house. A verdant green lawn, coconut palms and flowering shrubs create a serene scene as visitors look out to the dock and water.
Special Feature
No need to clutter the sun deck with accent tables. Each teak wood lounge chair has its own pull-out shelf to hold a drink and reading material.
Light House Like
At sunset, the outdoor lighting lets the house glow like a beacon.
Let the Inside Out
French doors open to allow easy access from the great room of the house to the lanai out back. In cool weather the open doors let fresh air flow inside.
Coming Home
The lit up house becomes a welcoming destination for guests making their way back from watching the sunset on the dock over the Indian River outback.
Invitation Only
Framed by the darkened palm tree fronds at night, the house looks inviting from the river and the dock in the distance.
