Delicate Kitchen Details
This charming kitchen is the ideal space for meal prep, entertaining and even dining. “This whole room is so beautiful in the detailing and the trim,” explains the home’s interior designer Linda Woodrum. “And I think that’s really important to notice.”
Bright, White Kitchen
A pair of French doors leads to a lovely patio and allows plenty of natural light to flood the space, making the HGTV Dream Home 2015 kitchen a bright, cheery place to spend time.
Storage on the Side
Just inside the back door, a convenient counter serves as a handy bar. A classic bouquet of magnolia leaves brings life into the space, while extra cabinets provide much-needed storage.
A center island not only adds storage and provides more counter space for meal prep, it’s also the perfect spot for doing homework, enjoying breakfast or keeping the cook company before dinner.
Ladder-Back Stool Trio
With comfortable seating for three, the kitchen island is the perfect place to entertain before dinner or serve up a quick breakfast before school.
Pop of Blue
Gorgeous blue place settings are a nod to the nautical influence of this home’s Cape Cod style and add a vibrant pop of color to the neutral space.
Open Layout Kitchen
The open kitchen leads straight to the dining room, making the entire home feel bright and airy. According to Linda, the kitchen “is part of the party. You’re not isolated, and I think that’s how people want to live.”
A coffered ceiling with beadboard adds character and texture to the homey cookery. Recessed lighting and a perfectly-proportioned skylight create the ideal lighting combination in this bright, beautiful space. “I think everyone who comes in is astounded by the quality of the craftsmanship,” says Linda. “The people who worked on this house are really proud of what they do, and it’s pretty exhilarating.”
According to Linda, HGTV Dream Home 2015 has achieved “the perfect kitchen.” By keeping the cook in mind throughout the designing process, the space is incredibly attractive, very workable and has everything a cook would need right at their fingertips.
Time for Dinner
A large stainless steel oven and gas range make preparing meals a snap and entertaining a pleasure.
Built to blend in with the classic Cape Cod homes surrounding it, HGTV Dream Home 2015 makes use of classic architectural elements, such as beadboard and traditional wood flooring, to enhance the home’s character and overall style.
Drinks and snacks are served on a tray for family, friends and the lucky guests who get to visit this inviting Cape Cod home.
One of the first spaces you see when entering the home, this crisp white kitchen is a welcoming spot to enjoy a cold drink after a day of being outdoors.
Pretty Paint Job
Painted in white, the home plays with light and looks even more spacious from within. “I think the whole house was painted with a brush, nothing sprayed – it’s an immaculate paint job,” says Linda.
The kitchen island is covered with an attractive butcher block countertop, which according to Linda, “adds incredible warmth” to the space. By using different countertops in the kitchen, the room exudes a more custom, lived-in appeal.
Just off the kitchen, a comfortable patio is the picture-perfect spot to enjoy meals al fresco, delighting in the crisp Cape Cod air.
Smart, Sleek Extras
Simple white subway tile sets the stage for classic stainless steel fixtures, including a handy wall-mounted pot filler.
