The AZEK deck, accessible from the dining room via sliding doors, is furnished with adjustable chaises. "You will spend an awful lot of time in the kitchen and I didn't want to look out and see a lot happening out there," says interior designer Linda Woodrum of her decision to keep deck furnishings minimal.

A staircase leads from the deck to the lower-level terrace, connecting two floors of entertainment space.

A feast for the eyes, exterior details included battered, masonry-clad walls and oversized hemlock timbers.

Rustic poplar bark siding on gable ends grounds the architectural design and makes a subtle reference to Adirondack Great Camps.

Walls of glass lend a contemporary elegance to more rustic hemlock timbers.

Durable AZEK decking will require minimum maintenance. Stainless steel railing cables will withstand the mountain's toughest weather conditions, while cedar deck rails will require only an annual oil treatment.

The deck is equipped with surround-sound speakers, should parties spill from interior to exterior spaces.

The home's stainless steel deck railing system was fabricated and installed by LWI Metalworks, a Morrisville, Vt., metal fabricator.

The wooded back yard provides a natural canopy of privacy during summer and fall months.

The back deck offers a quiet spot for contemplation and observation of nature.
