I Brake For Yard Sales Episodes

Season 1, Episode 1

Rescue, Recylce, Reinvent

Jen and Alon make their plea to Lara and her design team to transform their completely empty and forgotten living room. They want a warm, sophisticated space to enjoy with their three young daughters. Lara Spencer (Designer/Flea Market expert and Good Morning America Co-Anchor) and her amazing design team take on the challenge! With a shopping budget of fifteen hundred dollars, Lara finds great one-of-a-kind furniture pieces. Using a little elbow grease and a lot of love, Lara and her team transform and customize the second hand treasures into works of art. But not everything goes smoothly. The sofa is accidently recovered in the wrong fabric and the coffee table breaks during the installation. Will Lara and the team overcome the hurdles? And what will the family think once the room is revealed? In the second space, Steph and Arleigh have a dark, awkward basement that needs a complete overhaul. The room has weird nooks, plumbing pipes, AC ducts and 70's ceiling tiles. It's an eyesore and this will be a huge design challenge! But Lara is up to the task. Lara and the team find worn-out furniture pieces, loaded with potential at yard sales, flea markets and estate sales. After everything is refurbished and repurposed, the team has to deal with a challenging installation. Will they be able to figure out a layout for this asymmetrical room? And will the family like it once it's revealed?

Season 1, Episode 2

Playroom No More

Lara Spencer (Designer/Flea Market expert and Good Morning America Anchor) and her amazing design team are on the case for Scott and Allesandra. Turning a kid's playroom into a glamorous dining room. Lara and Sam, her fabric guru, take a tour of the space and decide to create a Hollywood Regency style dining room. To do this, they need to find some diamonds in the rough for the space and shop flea markets, yard sales, estate sales and consignment shops. They find some great but worn-out pieces but cannot find the right dining room table. After some deep digging, Lara finds a great dinning table at a consignment shop. Lara's team refurbishes all the second-hand scores and gives the space a custom paint job. To honor the history of the space, Lara works with Scott and Allesandra's children to create a special art project. The installation gets hectic for the whole team as they scramble to get the room done. And what will Scott and Allesandra think of the room once its reveal with all the super glamorous second-hand finds? In the second story, Lara and the team help Irv and Alexis with their abandoned den. At one time, it was the hub of the house but then suffered a mold problem and now has become a sad storage room. Lara chooses to go a different route with this room - she wants to use a variety fabrics and patterns to give this room a fun and funky vibe. To make this a reality, Lara and Sam go shopping at flea markets, estates sales and second hand stores to find used furniture pieces that can be reupholstered with the new fabric choices. Irv and Alexis also have a few sentimental pieces Lara must weave into her design as well, such as Aunt Lil's very outdated Settees and original artwork from Irv's father. Once they have all the furniture pieces, the team paints and reupholsters the new treasures. They create custom pieces for the space and even base the color scheme for the room on Irv's father's artwork. As the installation gets underway and the team is under a time crunch Sam and Bob get into a battle over the curtains which Lara must play peacemaker to resolve. But will the fight between Sam and Bob derail the makeover? And will Irv and Alexis like how Lara and the team reimagined their family heirlooms and their refurb'ed den?

Not everything works out as planned. There's problems with the paint on the table and the installation proves challenging. Eventually the team figures the perfect layout but what will the family think of their new Moroccan inspired entertainment room? For the second family, Lara and the team re-envision Tim and Aimee's kitchen into kitchen and dinning area.
