SAVANNAH, GA: Quintessentially Deep South
Savannah is the oldest city in the state of Georgia and often cited as one of America's most picturesque cities. With its historic downtown, cobblestone streets and oak shaded garden squares, it has long been one of the South's premiere tourist destinations. It was America's first "planned city," laid out in the 1730s with public squares and a carefully designed grid. It's home to the prestigious Savannah College of Art and Design and today is known for its exquisite architecture, a myriad of festivals, a burgeoning art scene, thriving cocktail culture and fine low-country cuisine.
