It all began on a gorgeous sunset, wine-laden evening in Los Angeles, California with family and friends.  Oh wait, no.  Nope.  It was a random afternoon in York, Pennsylvania at an amateur baseball game with far too much Bud Light in hand, that neither of us really desired to drink (but we sure as hell drank it!).  Wait wait wait.  NO!  It was actually a very special, black tie, champagne filled wedding rehearsal-dinner that brought these two high-class hooligans together for-e-vah.  And it wasn’t even OUR wedding.

The rest?  Well, the rest is ANYTHING but history.  It’s actually a very current love affair.  A love affair with pillows.  And paint.  And faux fur.  Repurposed wood, mirrored shelves, never ending conference calls, African textiles, cross country flights, hairpin legs, bohemian anything, andromeda wallpapers, foot massages, vintage treasure hunts, sputnik light fixtures, and really anything that gets our twinkles in a dinkle.  (we have no idea what that means.)

Anyway.  Here we are. TEN years later with so many kismet endeavors under our respective belts that we’ve finally decided to tie our own special kind of knot.  We like to call it,  W A K E + L O O M.   So much beautiful time in the making, we finally feel our official cue to bring our ardor to life.  Our obsessions.  Our fascination with all that we can make and find beautiful.

We dive in.

Meet Gabriela Eisenhart

With family roots in Italy and Monte Carlo, Gabriela grew up as a second generation Italian, helping her father in their family owned fine dining restaurant, Nino’s, the oldest Italian Restaurant in Atlanta, GA.  After joining forces with the Eisenhart family of the well-known, Eisenhart Wallcoverings Company, Gabriela developed a love of textiles and wallpaper.

Gabriela has a sophisticated and provocative style, mixed with bold, vintage as well as custom-made statement pieces.  Her unconventional concepts marry traditional elements with unexpected modern design.   As a fashion enthusiast, she believes that creating the perfect space is like constructing the perfect wardrobe.  Juxtaposing color and texture, she creates balance and function, while thriving off the hunt for items that capture the personality of her clients.  She fuses the old and new, creating timeless moments, with confidence and beauty.

Meet Holly Conlan

Holly Conlan was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.  Alongside her focus on interior styling and design, she has also spent the majority of the last ten years as a touring singer-songwriter.  Holly has shared the stage with three-time grammy nominated artist, Sara Bareilles, as her opening act on a US and Canadian tours, as well with Katy Perry, Ingrid Michaelson, Josh Radin, Cary Brothers and many others. 

All along this musical pilgrimage, Holly has been quietly garnering work throughout West Hollywood and Los Angeles as an interior stylist.   She leans toward a California-eclectic style, minimal yet warm, and loves to create playful and chic spaces.  Her time spent touring the globe as a musician has given her a broad assemblage of inspiration to pull from.  Holly finds gratification in helping people create spaces that are true to themselves, with imagination and originality.  Now, in founding W A K E + L O O M alongside Gabriela, she will continue to grow her design roots on both the west and east coasts.
