A command center for the home and family life, this unused hallway was converted into an office nook. Located in between the mudroom and kitchen, the office nook is the perfect space for organizing kids’ activities, making grocery lists, and running volunteer projects for school. The mesh detail in the cabinet door masks a bright orange interior for a little whimsy. And the drawer on the left masks a hidden pullout drawer for the printer.

This "landing zone" in the mudroom provides a space for each child to have ownership of. Each cubby has enough hooks for hanging up bookbags, dog leashes, and winter coats, as well as a large, deep drawer for shoes underneath. For the less used or bulkier items, there are large cabinets above, perfect for sports bags and seasonal items. The floor tile is actually a painted wood tile, which adds softness to the modern lines in the pattern.

Throw-back Laundry Room With a Vintage Light Fixture and Wallpapered Ceilings

This laundry room is pretty enough to leave the doors open to the other living spaces. Including plenty of storage for cleaning supplies, a spot for laundry hampers, and even a Lucite rod to hang clothes to dry on hangers. Featuring durable painted concrete tile on the floor, a bright teal paint for the walls and trim, and a patterned wallpaper on the ceiling to balance the strong pattern on the floor. The light used in this space was sourced from a local antique shop and was the jumping-off point for the whole room. An Umanoff from the 1970s, in its original apple green, set the stage for the functional, throw-back vibe complete with floral knobs on the cabinet.
