Light, Bright and Elegant Traditional Sitting Room
Formerly a stark home office, this sunny living room now houses a light and airy array of neutral furnishings and accessories. A wall of built-in shelving once held office supplies, but now offers space to display photos, collected pieces and topiaries in the traditional space. Stationary panels at the French doors finish the room and tie together its taupe and white color scheme.

Built-In Storage Made Functional in Traditional Sitting Room
In its past life as a home office, this room’s built-in shelving stored supplies for a home-based business. By varying the shelf heights, designer Lauren Clement added interest and made space to accommodate photos, topiaries and collected accessories. Greenery dotted throughout the room aims to link the traditional sitting room with the outdoors.

Before: Home Office-Turned-Music Room Needs Makeover
Before, this light-filled room served as a home office, with little in the way of style and a piano in the corner treated as an afterthought. The homeowner instead wished to turn the space into a gracious room for entertaining, relaxing and enjoying the music and views.
