Wood Gate Furthers Old World Feel

A smooth stone wall surrounds the backyard, offering privacy from passersby. At the same time, its carved wood gate furthers the space's enchanting Old World aesthetic.

Fountain, Flowers Create Enchanting Backdrop

Directly across from the covered sitting area, a stone fountain and lush plants make a beautiful backdrop for conversation. As they follow the path ahead, guests will feel like they're strolling through the gardens of Europe.

Ivy-Covered Wall With Stone Fountain

An ivy-covered wall is a must for a backyard inspired by those gorgeous gardens in Europe. A stone fountain tucks into the corner for soothing ambient sound and additional visual interest.

Pavers Lead to Intimate Sitting Area

Smooth stone pavers wrap around the side of the pool, leading guests to a covered sitting area. Here, cushioned chairs gather around a fireplace and invite the owners and their friends to relax.

Garden Wall Runs Alongside Pool

A second ivy-covered wall runs parallel to the pool, giving the owners privacy while still allowing them to soak up views of the horizon. Trees dot the yard as well for a touch of shade.

Infinity-Edge Pool Shines at Night

After soaking up a little Vitamin D, the owners can enjoy swimming a lap or two in their infinity-edge pool. At night, landscape lights illuminate the water, making it all the more beautiful.

Mediterranean Villa Includes Lounge Area

Double doors and brick stairs lead right to the private pool. With two cushioned lounge chairs on either side of the entrance, the owners will have no problem settling into their slice of paradise.

Romantic Tuscan-Inspired Retreat

After extensive traveling across Europe, the owners of this home in Scottsdale, Ariz., wanted to bring a taste of their adventures back to the desert. Thus, the Pascale Land Design team transformed their backyard into a romantic retreat straight out of Tuscany.

Beautiful Pink and Purple Flowers

Bright pink and purple flowers surround the entryway of the home, and so give guests a warm welcome. Large plants on either side enhance the lush design.

Perennials, Rose Bushes Border Back Door

As soon as they step through those double doors, the owners leave the desert behind and enter a gorgeous European garden. With blooming perennials and bushes all along the side of the house, they'll have no problem stopping to smell the roses.

Flowers Enliven Mediterranean Exterior

To brighten the home's neutral exterior, the landscape architects decorated the backdoor with pink and purple flowers. Twin lanterns flank the entry as well, providing additional symmetry and balance.

Comfortable, Covered Sitting Area

A wood bench tucked against the side of the house becomes a comfortable area to relax. With plants and flowers all around, the owners will have no problem enjoying the beauty in their backyard.
