Before + Afters: Contemporary Atlanta Abode

Off-white walls, old light fixtures and dark wood furniture made this Atlanta home look kind of cavernous. With a fresh coat of paint and cool, contemporary furnishings, though, the TerraCotta Design Build team brightened the space for the owners and their children.

With arched windows, crown molding and dark hardwood floors, this traditional living room in Atlanta, Ga., has the potential to be something special. All the space needs is a fresh coat of paint and furniture that's elegant yet comfortable for a young family.

Light-Filled Living Room With Red Area Rug

Because this room had such great bones, the designers only needed to paint the walls white to make the space feel fresh and bright. They then layered in a ruby red rug, two armchairs and a tufted ottoman, which create a comfortable sitting area for listening to music.

Traditional Master Bathroom With Stall Shower

The master bathroom has good bones, too, but could perhaps use another sink and more storage. The built-in makeup station is a nice touch, though!

Is this even the same bathroom as before? With matching mirrors, marbled sinks and a double vanity, the space looks brand new and gives the owners all the storage they ever wanted! Palm leaf wallpaper adds energy to the room and inspires thoughts of travel.
