Kim Basinger's Swanky Home in "L.A. Confidential" Gets a Modern Update

Many of the key scenes starring Kim Basinger as a lady-for-hire in the award-winning 1997 film drama L.A. Confidential were shot in this Los Angeles mansion, chosen for the film for its old-world classic Spanish style. The home is currently listed for sale at $7.495 million.

L.A. Confidential star Kim Basinger starred in that celebrated neo-film noir as call girl Lynn Bracken, a role that won the actress multiple nominations and awards. Scenes of Bracken's home were shot in the stunning 1923-era mansion currently listed for $7 million+ in the Hollywood Hills.

Designed by silent film actor and architect Jack Donovan, this 5,000-square-foot 1923 home sits in Los Angeles' Hancock Park neighborhood on a generous corner lot.

L.A. Confidential production designer Jeannine Oppenwall said she chose what is known as the John C. Leavitt House because of its classic LA look, apropos for the mood of director Curtis Hanson's updated film noir.
