Much more than a place to park a car, this detached garage with pool table inside offers a spot for casual get togethers. “The idea is to go ahead and open the detached garage, and be able to just entertain in the front yard as much as you do in the backyard,” says designer Brain Patrick Flynn.

This white painted door with glass inserts on the side of the garage leads to steps to the home’s garden entrance with the laundry room and mudroom inside.

Located by the door sits the individual switches for each bay in the garage. “This way you can open or close the front garage doors on your way inside the house,” says build manager Scott Branscom.

The garage’s laminated composite wood storage system includes six drawers for organizing and storing tools, home and garden accessories, craft supplies and more. Kayaks hang on the wall above, which can be used to enjoy the marsh out back. A coral wood cluster sculpture and wood bird figurines that mimic some of the feathered friends you find in the local marsh decorate the top of the storage system.
