Located in Atlanta's historic West End, this grand vintage home has been reimagined for a new age by its owner who often hosts visitors from out of town and out of the country at her ultra stylish Airbnb. The book and curio-laden shelves in Tracy Galasso's parlor define the formal-meets-funky attitude of the entire home. Galasso has a great eye and a knack for reimagining furniture and decor deals.

Well-Curated Bookshelves

Artist Tracy Galasso's collection of ivory busts and vintage items are mixed in with art books available for her guests to peruse. Galasso's art school education is visible in every corner of this beautifully designed and well-curated home.

Hallway Vignette

Plenty of reflective surfaces in a mirrored dresser and mirrors of different sizes really open this transitional hallway space up and keep things light, airy and glam.

Flower Power

Oversize floral wallpaper coupled with a dramatic chandelier bring a sense of luxury to this guest bathroom.

Modern History

Galasso has somehow managed to make an 160-year-old home in Atlanta's Adair Park seem fresh and modern. "I love dark colors on the wall" says Galasso of this parlor in a rich forest green that beautifully contrasts with the white walls and moulding in the main living room. Galasso says her two splurge items when it comes to home design are faucets and light fixtures.

The Ultimate Speakeasy

The chic bar right off of the parlor is painted a striking black with the ceiling and window frames left white for contrast. A dramatic light fixture gives the room attitude. The cabinets are filled with exotic spirits and glassware.

Wedding Cake White

Plenty of crisp white moulding, woodwork and paint look somehow modern when paired with Galasso's thrift store, floor sample and store clearance finds. Here a clever collage of mirrors leading up to her home's second floor makes use of painted white frames for design cohesion.

Cabinet of Curiosities

"I don't have any hobbies" jokes homeowner Tracy Galasso, of the antiques and curiosities that ornament every nook and corner of her home, "all I do is buy things from strangers in parking lots."

Double-Duty Plant

A pitcher plant on the living room mantel has a dual purpose of keeping fruit flies at bay says Galasso. A minimalist painting and brass deer bring touches of character to this Atlanta living room.

Original and thrift-store sourced artwork, her parents' framed passport photos and small design objects give this gallery wall in the parlor off of the main floor kitchen feel quirky and hip.
