Charming Master Retreat

To add timeless elegance, the master suite is covered in shades of lavender and lilac along with classic-style furnishings. A heavy mix of black and silver keeps the pastel tones from being overly feminine.

Coconut Mirror

For a touch of glamour above the bed, a mirror made from antique glass and black coconut shells was hung. In addition to adding dark contrast against the light wall color, the graphic shape of the circle helps ground the space.

Bedside Vignette

To anchor the light lavender walls, black touches were added in the form of paper lampshades, an iron sleigh bed and a coconut shell mirror.

Stamped Metal

Muted purple tones work well with metallics. For a cool spin on the color, the bed is flanked by a pair of stamped-metal chests. Lavender and lilac can easily take on feminine characteristics depending on what they’re paired with. To keep the colors gender-neutral, it’s smart to mix them with shades of gray and black.

French Doors

For a grand entrance, the master bathroom is equipped with glass-front French doors. In addition to making the space feel larger, this allows natural light to flow in and out from the bathroom’s three windows and into the attached bedroom.

Claw-Foot Tub

Overall, the look of the master suite is traditional and classic. For timeless appeal, a white claw-foot tub was centered on the bathroom’s windows.

Patterned Roman Shades

Privacy was added next to the tub with a trio of paisley-patterned Roman shades. When the room isn’t in use, it can be flooded with natural light by sliding the Roman shades all the way up. As the tub is in use, privacy is added by sliding the shades down toward the bottom of the window.

Polished Nickel

Polished nickel hardware was used in the master bathroom to keep the white and lilac feeling cool. To give lavender and lilac tones warm appeal, brass is an excellent metal choice.

Hexagonal Side Table

For a spa-like soaking experience, the claw-foot tub is paired with a wooden occasional table. This keeps books, magazines, drinks and eyeglasses within arm’s reach.

Black Iron Chandelier

In keeping with the classic aesthetic of the master suite, the bathroom ceiling is accented with a timeless iron chandelier complete with crystal pendants.
