Jane Fonda's Sprawling Former Santa Fe Ranch

Actress Jane Fonda purchased Forked Lightning Ranch when she was splitting from husband Ted Turner with whom she learned to fly fish. As she knew she'd miss it, she chose a property on 3.5 miles of the Pecos River and continued to fish. Though Fonda eventually sold the property in 2015 for a cool $19.5 million to an undisclosed buyer, it remains a gorgeous property that defines New Mexico's unique beauty.

Reclaimed wood beams adorn the ceiling of Fonda's library, which houses her collection of Navajo rugs and artifacts acquired over her many years of travel and adventure.

Fonda said she built the property as her sanctuary, as her escape. It was here that the Academy Award winner wrote her memoir My Life So Far. She has called it a place of healing and beauty.
