At the Furnace Creek Inn in Death Valley National Park, “lodgy” does not equal stodgy. We love the one-of-a-kind poolside bungalow, which was built using local tumbled rocks from the surrounding alluvial fans and washes. It also features a vaulted wood-beamed ceiling and small deck overlooking the pool.

If this antique steamer trunk from Omero Home could talk, perhaps it would tell tales of its first trip along the Santa Fe Railroad where it accompanied its wealthy owner to the Grand Canyon’s El Tovar Lodge (just a guess). All of the original hardware is complemented with new burlap coverings and tan suede bindings. The inside was relined in a cotton weave. We think it’s a fine piece to pull off an eclectic lodge look with bonus storage. Omero finds trunks from all over the world, which start at around $1,300.

Located on the Grand Canyon’s South Rim, El Tovar’s lobby features Swiss lodge elements along with an Arts & Crafts flare. Though few of the 1906 original pieces are in use, it still echoes the charm of when its guests arrived by train and buggy, not planes and automobiles. By matching a few of these pieces, you can easily get an eclectic lodge look of your own.

Rejuvenation not only offers plenty of new housewares suitable for creating a lodge look, but they also restore and/or repurpose vintage items such as this Arts & Crafts light fixture. The chandelier originally graced the Markham House in Portland, Oregon's historic Laurelhurst neighborhood. It is typical of the Arts & Crafts Movement's mission to combine organic elements with geometric styling. This beauty goes for roughly $4,700.

The neutral colors remind us of the steel blue skies of Denali and a cozy morning in the Great Smoky Mountains. And, for every product sold, United By Blue removes one pound of trash from our world's oceans and waterways. That’s a mission we can all love. 

Every piece of furniture created by master craftsman Brian Brace is inspired by nature. The Vermont native grew up surrounded by mountains and developed an early respect for the environment, which is reflected in his meticulous designs. Crafted by hand, each piece is unique and priced accordingly. We love this Arbor Bow, his take on the Morris chair ($3,660).

Bringing in a brightly colored geometric graphic design element to the table, or in this case the sofa, can really tie the room together. Get a lodge feel with one pillow from Dot & Bo like this one, which is handcrafted and features a variety of cotton and silk fabrics. Choose from several designs priced at $28 - $60. 

Located almost as close to Rocky Mountain National Park as the Denver Airport, the Crawford Hotel is a one of the finest modern examples of a successful marriage of rustic and eclectic. Each guest room is unique in design and yes; those are jack-a-lopes on the wall. We love the entire transformation of the Union Station location, which was once home to the area’s Skid Row. 

Known for their impeccable taste and quality furnishings, leave it to Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams to offer the one-of-a-kind teak tables to create a whimsical and organic lodge look. Made from sustainably harvested lumber, no trees were destroyed for any of the pieces in the Tremont line. It also comes in a console table and wall art. 

The combination of iron and wood is typical of Parkitecture interiors and design elements. The Guadalupe chandelier from Dot & Bo is a modern nod to the rustic meeting refinement and we think they make a dynamite couple. 

You’ll have no qualms about displaying this set of antlers from United By Blue as they were simply plucked from the ground. Each year, young bucks get a new set after the old ones fall to the ground and are left behind.

Visitors to the historic Crater Lake Lodge are welcomed with a grand fireplace in the Great Hall complemented by rich sold wood furniture and vintage and modern accessories. Originally opened in 1915, the lodge experienced extensive renovations in 1995 but still echoes its historic atmosphere. The lodge is open seasonally from late-May to mid-October.
