Joel West

Carpenter on Design on a Dime and native of Iowa, Joel moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting and starred in a number of films and TV shows. In addition to acting, Joel has also worked as an artist, and his work is featured in Los Angeles and San Francisco galleries. His creativity landed him a job on Survivor, where he helped create the show's challenges for three seasons.

In 2005 Joel became a licensed contractor and started his own company, West Boys Construction. He now works on innovative ground-up projects throughout Los Angeles, where he resides with his wife and two children.
