Brooks describes himself as a "mad scientist of industrial design." After receiving a B.A. in architecture from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and an M.A. in advanced architectural design from Columbia University, Brooks says he feels right at home when he designs "because it’s the only profession where I can be totally insane and totally rational at the same time." Brooks is a professor of industrial design at New Jersey Institute of Technology and also runs a design company that offers a range of services, from furniture design to sculptural installations for commercial and residential spaces.
