How to Make Ugly Sweater Wine Charms

Hosting an ugly sweater party this holiday season? Make these adorable mini-sweater charms so your guests can keep track of their cocktail or wine glass. 

Tools and Materials

  • shrink plastic
  • colored pencils
  • sandpaper
  • scissors
  • sweater template
  • hole punch
  • toaster oven
  • pipe cleaners
  • jump ring
  • paint markers
  • Dimensional Magic top coat

Step 1

Trace the shape of a sweater onto the shrink plastic.

Step 2

Cut out the sweater shapes. Follow the manufacturer's directions on the shrink plastic, some types need to be slightly sanded.

Step 3

Add color and designs to the sweater shapes using colored pencils, permanent markers or paint pens.

Step 4

After the shrink plastic has been colored but before heating, use a hole punch to make the sweater a charm.

Step 5

Follow the manufacturer's instructions for cooking the plastic down in size.

Step 6

After the charms have cooled completely apply a top coat to protect them. Allow to dry overnight.

Step 7

Add jump rings and pipe cleaners to attach the charms to the wine glasses.

Step 8

Use holiday socks to dress up your wine bottles.
