Sneak Peek: 'Brother vs. Brother' Goes to Galveston
Jonathan and Drew dive into their most challenging competition yet: waterfront homes.
Last season on Brother vs. Brother, the Scott brothers went big for their annual home makeover competition by bringing it home to Las Vegas and upping the ante on their projects, bets and pranks. This year? Jonathan and Drew are diving into uncharted waters and stretching their budgets for something they’ve never tried before: beach houses!
In tonight’s premiere episode, the brothers tour several properties in the seaside getaway town of Galveston, Texas, in search of the perfect projects to invest in, using $600,000 of their own money, renovate, sell and rake in the biggest profits to give back to the community. With Galveston’s massive market for vacation rentals, Jonathan and Drew are both aiming to appeal to buyers looking for a new getaway that can be rented to out-of-town visitors — “lots of beds for lots of heads,” as Drew says.
Ultimately, Jonathan opts for a dated single-story that appears to be in great structural shape but needs some serious cosmetic attention (aka, it’s a full gut job). And the living room, the focus of tonight’s challenge, isn’t going to make Jonathan’s job easy, by any means.
Drew, on the other hand, opts for a major renovation project: a two-story home on stilts that hasn’t been updated in decades and needs a few structural upgrades. Did we mention the living room is covered, top to bottom, in wood paneling?
Can’t wait for the “after” reveals? Too bad!
Just kidding — here’s a tiny taste of the new vibes in Jonathan’s dramatically improved living area:
And in Drew’s delightfully coastal new space:
Only one brother will be crowned the living room challenge winner and set the pace for the entire project. Is this the year Drew finally exacts his revenge on reigning champ Jonathan?
The brothers’ friends and fellow HGTV hosts Egypt Sherrod (Flipping Virgins) and David Bromstad (My Lottery Dream Home) will bring their discerning eyes to the new spaces tonight to declare a winner, while older brother J.D. follows through as the always fair and unbiased referee throughout the competition.
And, yes, don't worry: There will be pranks. Let the games begin!
