'Tis the season for engagements!

More than six years after they met at a Fashion Week event, Property Brothers star Drew Scott proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Linda Phan, in an elaborate dinner proposal followed by a surprise engagement party with friends and family. Spoiler: Linda said "yes."

Drew had been planning the proposal for weeks (all offline) to avoid the chance that Linda — the creative director of the brothers' media company, Scott Brothers Entertainment — could accidentally discover any details. He told People magazine he had been carrying Linda's ring in his pocket for weeks and "had to be as stealthy as a ninja to pull this off."

The big surprise included Drew recording his own version of the Train song "Marry Me," which played over the Toronto restaurant's sound system in the middle of dinner. Wait, it gets better: The song was a cue for the staff to bring out a custom cake decorated with details from one of Linda's favorite books, Dr. Seuss' Oh, the Places You'll Go!, but changed to "Oh, the Places We'll Go!"

Are you misty yet?

Drew wasn't the only Scott playing stealthily. After the proposal, Drew brought Linda to what she thought was a company holiday party. It was actually a surprise engagement party with their parents, friends and Drew's brothers, Jonathan and J.D., in tow.

Linda has played a huge part in the Scott Brothers' TV and philanthropic endeavors through Scott Brothers Entertainment, often traveling with them on shoots and occasionally getting in on a few projects herself. (Fun fact: The Brothers crew has called her the "MacGyver" of crafts!)

Drew Scott and Linda Phan make some back-to-school locker hangers with Meg.

The engagement also comes a year and a half after a memorable April Fool's Day prank with the idea of a future Drew-Linda wedding:

So what's next? As the brothers told People earlier this month, they have had an elaborate holiday vacay in Hawaii with their families and their girlfriends' (now fiance's!) families planned for a while now. How's sunshine, beaches and post-engagement glow for a holiday surprise?

Congrats to adventurous lovebirds Drew and Linda on their pending nuptials!
