Wild, gutsy and down-to-earth best describes this southern girl. Bo Griffin grew up in the Bible belt of Greenville, S.C., raised by her Baptist minister father and her mother, a homemaker. But she didn't stay in Greenville for long. After a brief enrollment at the local college, she moved to New York with one goal: to conquer the world of entertainment.
Bo quickly became the protégé of renowned acting coach Herbert Berghoff. At HB studios, she improved her acting skills and refined her voice. After several successful productions, she decided that radio would be a faster track than Broadway. She went back to school and secured a job at a radio station in Durham, N.C., where she went from news director to mid-day host to program director within six months. A year later, she was on her way to Miami.
Once there, her career skyrocketed. First signed as a host at 99 JAMZ, she went on to help launch the new urban/dance station, Hot 105, and later took a job with Miami's Power 96. After achieving vast popularity as a nighttime radio personality, she later became the one of the best-known female morning hosts in radio with her success on the station's morning-drive show.
When she moved to Los Angeles to launch her TV career as the host and producer of The Pulse of Miami, the magic continued. She went on to work as the entertainment reporter for Miami's NBC affiliate for three years, then became the co-host of the Fox Morning show, That's Life. Next, she went on to host the national relationship talk show, Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus. The show had been on the air just three weeks when Columbia Tri-Star signed her to a development deal for her own show.
Bo is once again multi-tasking, both as a beauty maven and as an entertainment correspondent for 20th Century Fox's Good Day Live, which includes hosting the red carpet for the Emmys, Grammys and Academy Awards. A dual resident of Los Angeles and her hometown of Greenville, she has two projects in the city where she grew up — her first clothing venture, Goddess, and a pre-syndicated radio program, The Bo Griffin Morning Show.
