Andy Hampton, a carpenter on HGTV’s $250,000 Challenge, grew up in Baltimore. As a child, Andy enjoyed building wooden models and treehouses, which laid the foundation for his love of carpentry. At age 15, Andy apprenticed at a renowned millwork firm where he developed a wide range of woodworking skills, such as milling lumber, furniture design and custom finishing. In addition to his hands-on building talent, Andy holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial design.
Andy also can be seen as a carpenter on HGTV’s Over Your Head. In his spare time, he manages a business and works as a freelance builder. He also enjoys restoring his 1920s Colonial-style house and rebuilding classic American muscle cars.
