The majestic teal for the master bedroom walls was also used for the ceiling, which helps give the well-detailed space a cozy feel.

Capitalizing On the View

Chests on each side of the bed are topped by custom mirrors that reflect the view of the river, to capitalize on the stunning scenery outside.

Focal Point

A scalloped headboard and framed modern artwork create a focal point behind the master suite's white four poster canopy bed.

Reflecting the View

Like the chest on the left side of the bed, another chest to the right is topped by a mirror to capitalize on the views outside. Assorted books and accessories add texture on top of the chest.

Gallery Wall

To minimize the flat screen TV, a gallery wall was created on the wall just off the left side of the bed. The wall's eclectic artwork around the TV includes a framed black and white photo of an old barn and figure drawings of dogs and European-style chairs.

All About Symmetry

To make the amazing views from the master suite the star of the show, the design team played with symmetry to give the space personality.

Defining Each Space

Too help ease visitors into the bold space, the hallway right outside is much lighter and subdued than the master bedroom suite inside.

The master bedroom has a refined style. "This is much more formal than any other room in the house, but the bold color makes it a little more fun and not really stuffy," says interior designer Brian Patrick Flynn.

The driftwood look of the floor fits the coastal flavor of the house and provides a neutral backdrop for the master bedroom's brighter walls and ceiling.

Throw pillows in bold hues are a simple way to add a punch of color to a neutral sofa.

The oval coffee table that looks similar in shape and scale to a surfboard not only fits the coastal theme, but provides a handy place to rest drinks and space for books and flowers.
