Favorite Time of the Year
For designer, Kim Stoegbauer decorating for the holidays is one of her favorite things to do. She loves pulling out treasures from years past and mixing them with new decor finds. Her family enjoys helping get the house ready for the holidays and are always sad to see it come down at the end of the season.
Simple, But Elegant
Kim’s signature style is a mix of farmhouse and modern, with black, white and neutrals as a base for each room.
Stockings Hung By the Chimney With Care
The fireplace serves as the perfect focal point for holiday gatherings. Snow-flocked garland lines the mantel, along with photo stocking holders and simple white fur stockings for each family member.
White Christmas
A snow-flocked Christmas tree with white and natural ornaments fills the corner of the room.
Charming Accents
Kim styled the tray on the coffee table with a darling reindeer, a small plant and a gorgeously wrapped gift.
Make It Plush
Cozy pillows and blankets were added to the sofas to create an inviting spot for relaxing and opening gifts on Christmas morning.
Natural Textures With Classic Christmas
This darling St. Nick standing in front of two feathery white evergreen trees is another example of how nature mixed with old-fashioned farmhouse accents can be truly elegant.
The Dining Room is Ready
Kim loves hosting holiday gatherings. She spruced up the dining room with greenery, festive tableware and serving essentials, so she’ll be ready to host at a moment’s notice.
Don't Forget the Chandelier
The faux greenery garlands add such a gorgeous element to the wood and metal chandelier. Find more ideas for dressing a light fixture for the holidays >>
Leave Room for the Practical
The side table is as functional as it as elegant. By leaving it uncrowded — just a pair of evergreens and a cute reindeer — there is plenty of room for tableware, glasses and food.
Simple and Sophisticated Centerpiece
The furry white tree adds texture and charm to the tablescape.
No-Fuss Place Settings
Kim added printable greeting labels at each place setting for the perfect finishing touch. Download labels for your table >>
The Heart of the Home
Kim knows that the kitchen is the hub of the home, so it deserves some special holiday love too. She started by adding 3D snowflakes to the chandelier to create a sparkly winter scene
Don't Forget a Touch of Cute
A holiday vignette in the center of the island adds a touch of whimsy. How cute is that furry friend?
Wood, White and Greenery
We love how she styled the open shelving, adding a wood advent calendar, graphic print, greenery and other holiday touches.
Stylized Yet Functional
This kitchen looks like the perfect place to make Christmas cookies, doesn’t it?
Simple Graphic Patterns
The silhouette tree art, a modern white reindeer and white wood snowflake look beautiful against the patterned backsplash.
Christmas Morning
With a few simple holiday decor additions, Kim’s kitchen table is the perfect spot to host the annual Christmas breakfast.
Family Traditions
After opening gifts on Christmas morning, Kim’s mom will be baking up the same German pancake recipe she’s made since her own kids were little.
Add a Little Sparkle
Special touches, like the glittered tree centerpiece, metal snowflakes and linen napkins tied with velvet ribbon add the perfect holiday feel to this setup.
Holiday Chair Backs
On the chairs, wreaths with burlap bows are the icing on the cake.
Don't Forget to Decorate the Bathroom
Along with holiday hosting comes getting ready for guests. Delight your family and friends with simple holiday decor in the guest bathroom.
Happy Bunting
Kim hung felt-ball garland on the mirror to add a festive touch to a space that's not always festive.
Holiday Accents
Pine trees are a holiday must-have in any room, and a small potted version is perfect for the countertop. Add in a holiday hand towel and a few other holiday decor elements and your bathroom with be guest ready.
Cozy Up the Master Bedroom
The holiday decor doesn’t end downstairs. With a few simple additions, Kim added holiday cheer in her master bedroom. She started with a small tree in the corner, simply decorated with white ornaments.
Soft and Textured
The furry pom-pom garland draped on the headboard adds such a joyful touch. Black and white buffalo check pillows along with the deer pillow are perfect cozy winter accents.
Romantic Sayings
Kim swapped out the existing art prints for new ones she designed with the holidays in mind. The sayings "have yourself a merry little Christmas" and "meet me under the mistletoe" add a fun element to the space. (Click on the sayings to download a copy for yourself.)
