The large island in the kitchen has multiple levels of functionality: cabinets on one side, open shelves on one end. White and brass are a recurring theme throughout the room, a little bit of glamour in the bright, open space.

Thick marble countertops grace the large kitchen island where there's room for five to sit and hang out (three stools fit on one side, two on another). Hints of brass sparkle out everywhere, from the cabinets' hardware to the crystal-and-brass pendants and the range hood's gold trim.

Originally, this kitchen was dark and closed off from the rest of the house. To give it a new, light-filled, welcoming mood, designers opened up the layout and brought in marble, wood, brass fixtures and hardware and beautiful crystal globe pendants.

What was once a dark and drab kitchen is now elegant, open and beautiful. The designers brought in lots of marble, natural wood, crystal and brass to create its warm, friendly look. Hardware and fixtures are brass; crystal-and-brass globe pendants hang over the island. Marble is used for the countertops and the backsplash behind the range.
