Modern Living

A desk, reading area, cozy window seat and hidden virtual reality room create a multi-purpose flex space made for modern living.

Hidden Bookshelf Door

Built to last a lifetime, the flex space’s hidden bookshelf door offers lots of useable storage with beautiful architectural appeal.

Cozy Reading Area

A modern upholstered side chair with a skirted base is paired with an upholstered stool to create comfortable seating in the reading area. A side table with a travertine stone top offers a spot for resting a book or drink.

Sturdy Bookshelves

The bookshelves on the hidden bookshelf door have been engineered to handle 300 lb. loads, so books, baskets for smaller office items, decorative accessories and framed family photos can easily be displayed and organized.

Secret Space

The seemingly normal bookcase opens to reveal a hidden virtual reality room, that offers a space for playing video games and enjoying the latest in technology.

Rhythm Lights

The virtual reality room’s smart light system allows you to fully personalize your lighting experience with modular panels, millions of colors, an intuitive light scene creator and support for many popular smart home platforms. An app is used to customize the lighting, create scenes, set schedules, or download and share scenes with other community users.

Virtual Entertainment

Top-of-the-Line Gaming

The virtual reality room’s video gaming system that allows you to get all the greatest games, TV, music and more is lighter and slimmer than ever before, with a 1TB hard drive. The console features powerful graphics and speed, deeply integrated social capabilities, connected gaming, intelligent personalization and innovative second-screen features.

Upholstered Stools

The stool in the flex space was upholstered in a different pattern from the stools in the virtual reality room, giving each space a coordinating feel but individual personality.

Cozy Window Seat

A cozy window seat behind linen drapes provides a great spot to catch up on reading or enjoy views of the outdoors.

Attractive and Functional

The window seat includes a padded upholstered seat for comfort, and hidden storage under the seat for extra office supplies or pillows and blankets for chilly nights.

Pretty Pillows

A selection of custom accent and bolster pillows provide comfort for the window seat, and feature solid colors and graphic patterns for contrast.

Character and Warmth

A Latte Oak hardwood floor provides a warm backdrop for all the colors and patterns used in this upstairs flex space.

Desk Area

The flex space includes a stylish desk area with a large potted plant that adds a touch of greenery to the area.

Two-Tone Finish

The modern desk has drawers that offer easy-access storage for office supplies, and features a Danish Walnut on the outside and a brighter Heartwood Pine on the inside.

Motion Sensor

A motion sensor that offers full room coverage is part of the home’s professional grade security system.

Statement Art

Large wall art with picture light above the desk area adds distinct personality and style.

Desk Top Accessories

A high gloss large square tray in pink holds desk accessories and a glass cylinder vase with fresh cuttings. Black magazine file holders offer organized storage for notebooks and more.

X Marks the Spot

The slim profile desk includes an attractive “X” base and leveling feet, and a custom upholstered oval X-back side chair for comfortable seating.

Work at Home

The clean and modern desk provides a spot for catching up on emails, paying bills, or taking calls. Decorative accessories, including a brass hand and wood clock, give the area a sense of modern style.

Flexible Lighting

A sleek tapered table lamp on the desk, the picture light above the painting and recessed ceiling lights on dimmers provide illumination for the flex space.

Vintage Style

A delightful collection of vintage boat paddles line the wall on the stairs going up to the flex space on the home’s second floor. A vintage beach painting with picture light above sits at the top of the stairs to add another nice decorative touch.

Second Floor Location
