All About John

Small, Casual Dining Area Attached to Formal Dining Room

To expand the seating options in this kitchen, designers from America's Most Desperate Kitchens created a small, casual table that connects to the larger, more formal one. This gives the homeowners the option of using the smaller table when they are home alone and simply want a casual meal or expanding their entertaining space, using both the larger table and the smaller table concurrently.

Glass Shelving Above Large, Undermount Sink

Above a large, undermount sink, designers John and Anthony installed floating glass shelves to add storage and display space without interrupting the design of the kitchen. As seen on America's Most Desperate Kitchens.

Kitchen Remodel With Shiplap Accent Wall and Custom Reclaimed Wood Baskets

This kitchen features an accent wall covered in shiplap, a pine paneling often used in barns and historic homes. Custom reclaimed wood storage baskets decorate the wall, showcasing fresh produce. Blue and oak cabinets, recessed lighten,g and wide plank hardwood floors are used thought the remainder of the space.

Vintage-Inspired Kitchen Mixes Clean Lines, Industrial Feel

The clean, modern cabinets have beechwood surrounds, plywood back boxes and feature soft-close. The cabinet hardware has the look of weathered copper with a blue-green verdigris patina. Antique inspiration is behind the kitchen island, which is clad in a cold-rolled steel wrapped around a plywood substrate for a smooth and durable work surface.

Fresh Kitchen Remodel With Blue Cabinets and Wide Plank Hardwood Floors

This transitional kitchen remodel pairs together oak and painted blue cabinets with a white subway tile backsplash and wide plank hardwood floors. Recessed lighting illuminates the space, while kitchen island stools with wrought iron legs provide a spot for casual countertop dining.

Chic Subway Tile Backsplash in Industrial, Rustic Kitchen

A trio of industrial-style sconces provide task lighting over the kitchen sink and prep area. Black quartz countertops top the muted gray cabinets, while white subway tile creates a contrasting backsplash. Open shelving with wrought iron brackets keep dishes and mugs handy.

Breakfast Bar with Granite Countertop and Pendant Lighting in Remodeled French Country Kitchen

The new peninsula, with granite countertop and pendant lighting provides the homeowners with casual seating at their new breakfast bar. To create a clear line of sight from this space into the living room, designers John and Anthony removed the wall separating the two rooms, creating an open, inviting space. As seen on America's Most Desperate Kitchens.

Contemporary Bar Area Adjacent to Renovated, Retro Kitchen

As seen on America's Most Desperate Kitchens, designers Anthony and John created a separate bar area just off the kitchen. To delineate the two spaces, designers used bold, blue cabinets and a gray countertop, creating visual separation from the adjoining kitchen space. Then, they added a three dimensional backsplash and two long shelves for storage. A final bit of decorative flair is added with the sliding barn door that matches the one concealing the pantry.

Baker's Corner in Chic, Transitional Kitchen

This newly remodeled kitchen by Kitchen Cousins Anthony Carrino and John Colaneri features a new bakery corner, complete with open pantry walls, an island with a large butcher-block prep area and chic teal cabinets. A blackboard is installed for the homeowner, who is an avid baker, to showcase today's treats.

Eat-In Kitchen With Cozy Breakfast Nook and Bench Seating

This kitchen remodel features a breakfast nook with a custom reclaimed wood dining table. Two stools attach to one side of the table, while an upholstered blue wood bench seat is built-in to the corner. A metal geometric chandelier hangs above, while throw pillows decorate the bench.

Season 1, Episode 7

Industrial Farmhouse

Anthony and John surprise Austin homeowners Josh and Jessica with a plan to remodel their 1940's cramped, drab, dark & dysfunctional kitchen. Hardly updated since it was built, the kitchen is not functional, has no flow and has very little storage for this busy family of 5. The cousins improve flow by removing French doors into a covered porch and adding a wall of cabinets topped with leathered granite, as well as a kitchen island, plenty of prep space and updated stainless steel appliances. The adjoining dining room gains French doors out to the back yard, a pub-height table set upon cabinets, a kids work area, industrial lighting and a wall of storage.
