Our Favorite Brothers' Makeovers

Bright Midcentury Modern Kitchen With Full Wall Backsplash, Mustard Yellow Bar Chairs and Large White Island

A sleek, sharp island fills the floor space in this shining midcentury modern kitchen. Mustard yellow bar chairs add a retro influence and counter the bright finishes of the walls and cabinetry. Gray and white tile create a full wall backsplash pattern behind floating shelves and a stainless steel range hood. Glass pendant lights bring extra light to solidify the bright finish.

Cozy Living Room With Industrial Touches

As seen on HGTV’s Property Brothers, Jonathan and Drew Scott designed this living room to match the homeowner’s bright personality. The original cement flooring was stained a warmer color and dark gray paint was added to the walls, while the one wood-clad wall was kept as a feature. The large metal storage unit resembles an old set of lockers, which brings an industrial feel to the space. Two vintage side chairs and an old leather sofa were reupholstered in bright colors and prints, and a star-shaped light bulb installation was mounted on the wall as a finishing touch.

Modern Faucet and Deep Sink

Contemporary style meets functionality with modern blue subway tiles and a faucet that can tackle pots and pans and sticky fingers.

Teal and Yellow Guest Bedroom

Dark hardwood floors, an eclectic rug, a dark teal accent wall, and complementary yellow bedding make this guest suite bedroom charming and inviting.

Wide-Open Kitchen

KITCHEN, AFTER: Wide open space now connects the two eating areas in the kitchen. Bright colors and lots of natural light make this a cheerful, clean space.

Modern Apron Sink in White Mid-Century Kitchen

A stainless steel farmhouse sink and a white subway tile backsplash add a traditional feel to an otherwise modern space. Frosted glass cabinet doors frame two shelving units above contemporary black countertops.
