Mini Pear Pies Recipe
6 firm, medium-size pears
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
2 tablespoons milk
1/3 cup crumbled bleu cheese
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup honey
Yield: Serves 6
Scoop Out Pears
Peel pears and cut in half. Using a spoon, scoop out the center of each, removing the seeds.
Add Pastry Dough
Place pears cut side down on baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper. Cut the thawed sheet of puff pastry into 6 rectangles. Place one rectangle on each pear (Image 1), then trim excess dough with a knife (Image 2). From leftover dough, cut "leaves" and attach to the top of the pear with a dab of milk (Image 3).
Coat and Bake Pears
Prick dough all over with a knife or fork, then brush pears with milk (Image 1). Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown (Image 2).
Allow pears to cool. Flip them over to fill hollowed centers with bleu cheese, topped with chopped walnuts.
Drizzle each pear with honey before serving.
