Most of us have endured our share of well-meaning baby shower games. In the best cases, these party games encourage guests to mingle and enjoy the party. At worst? You're sniffing melted candy bars stuffed inside an infant diaper. Luckily, we've got a solution that is part baby shower game, part gift for the mom-to-be: A DIY onesie station!

Adorable, right? Some tips for success:

Choose a theme. If the parents-to-be have a theme or color scheme for their nursery, let that be your inspiration. Here, we chose a modern woodland-inspired theme and a color palette of gold, marigold, navy and forest green.

More baby shower themes:

Vary the sizes. A new baby doesn't need 20 newborn-sized outfits, so buy a range up to 12 months. Wash and dry your blank canvases with baby-safe detergent before the party.

Display some examples. For the less craft-inclined, a little inspiration can go a long way. Display 3 easy-to-recreate DIYs and make sure you have the supplies on hand for each. Don't forget the basics, like scissors, paintbrushes and tape.

Include a work surface. Your guests will need some room to get creative. Provide a work table and chairs covered with kraft paper for easy cleanup. Include an iron for projects that need to be heat-set.

Put finished onesies on display. String a clothesline or, for a modern take, hang a wire mesh board, so guests can dry and display their handiwork.
