Brilliant Blues
Coastal touches in the great room mixed with a white and blue color palette allude to the HGTV Dream Home 2015’s Cape Cod location and give off a fun, fresh vibe in this common space.
Sculptural Interest
Stacked blue storage boxes topped with an ocean-inspired organic sculpture bring island flair to the great room.
Locally-Sourced Pieces
In the hallway locally-sourced art mimics the blue color scheme found throughout the home. Candles in hurricane glasses adorn a white oak chest.
Eye-Catching Artwork
Bold blue and red hues pop against white beadboard and neutral walls.
Historic Inspiration
Blue and white import ware, a significant part of the history of Martha’s Vineyard, was a sole inspiration for the design sceme of the HGTV Dream Home 2015.
Anchoring the Space
An anchor sculptural adornment above the bed is a statement piece that ties the guest bedroom together. “We found that on the island," says interior designer Linda Woodrum. "It was an old piece that was signage for something and we just bought it impulsively."
Pops of Orange
A white oak side table showcases a sleek desk clock, a contemporary tangerine table lamp and orange orchids to evoke a sophisticated but whimsical feel.
Washed Ashore
Mounted driftwood looks as though it just washed up on the shores of Martha’s Vineyard and straight into the guest bedroom, where it continues the nautical theme and provides a natural element of texture to the space.
High Energy Design
The guest bedroom “has the feeling of this island, where there is a lot of energy," says interior designer Linda Woodrum. "There is the sense that you could relax and have this nice experience of being somewhere different, but still it is very pleasant.”
Start Rowing
Old oars add to the coastal vibe of the guest bedroom.
Nautical Beach Bag
An anchor printed beach bag compliments surrounding nautical decorations in the guest bedroom.
Coastal Glassware
Anchor-printed glassware continues the nautical theme and a vase of orchids hint to the bold orange found in the guest bedroom.
Creative Coral Lamp
A white coral sculpture brings a beach house semblance to the master bathroom.
Boat Prints
Blue and white nautical artwork breaks up white space in the master bathroom.
Neutral Hues
Light, bright, and airy, the great room is a beautiful open space with an updated take on traditional Cape Cod style. A classic neutral color palatte and floor to ceiling beadboard is accented with bold blues and nautical accessories.
Under the Sea
A coral-inspired metal sculpture provides a shimmering focal peice on a great room book shelf.
Custom Framed Fish
Framed metal fish pop against white beadboard walls and shimmer under sconce lighting.
Cool Blue and White
Durable blue and white striped sofa with deep blue accent pillows ooze coastal design.
Serving Up Ocean Blue
Table settings tie together the deep ocean blues and crisp whites found throughout the home.
Sea-Inspired Glass Jars
The great room bookshelves prove perfect for showcasing coastal decor.
Driftwood Accessories on Display
Driftwood accessories can be found throughout the space as a nod to HGTV Dream Home 2015’s nautical surroundings. The backs of the built-in bookshelves were painted to make the decor pop against a dark background.
Antique Maritime Lantern
An antique maritime lantern complements the traditional design scheme in the great room.
Metal Marine Sculpture
A silver coral-inspired sculpture rests atop a stack of books on a great room front entrance chest.
Fishing for Complements
An antique fish sculpture pairs well with blue and white import ware to complete the vintage look.
Abstract Nautical Artwork
Like much of the artwork in the house, an abstract nautical-inspired print adds dimension and a pop of color to an otherwise neutral space.
A Fun Twist on Coastal Design
A ‘Happy on Chappy’ plaque hangs above the white media dresser and refers to Chappaquiddick, a small island off of Martha’s Vineyard. Bright colored furniture and artwork add a playful touch to this whimsical retreat.
Teal Appeal
After a day of romping around on the island, children can enjoy a private outdoor space to unwind. Teak lounge chairs with turquoise cushions and a pink throw blanket bring the cheerful theme of the kids’ room outside.
Rustic Lanterns
Antique inspired brass sconces complete the traditional Cape Cod look.
Locally-Sourced Pillows
Pillows displaying the names of the six towns on Martha's Vineyard enhance the back patio sofa.
Beachy Necessities
Blue and white striped towels await atop a teak bench next to the outdoor shower for a day on the beach.
