Chip and Joanna Gaines take Denitia and Norris Blount on a tour through three houses near Baylor University. The Blounts are almost empty-nesters with two kids at home and two on their own. Norris is the Sports Chaplain at Baylor and treats his students like family. They need a house to be big enough to entertain a whole football team. The Gaines' biggest challenge is working with the couple's conflicting tastes. Denitia loves old homes with lots of character and a big backyard. Norris wants a modern home with little or no yard, preferring astro-turf over grass. Will the Blounts be able to compromise on one of the three houses? Will they choose the Outdated Classic'with its large linebacker-size entryways and huge yard? Or will it be the 5-bedroom Unstately Manor with the bland exterior and backyard pool? Or will the winner be the Cute Cottage with the small lawn and party-size kitchen? The Gaines have their work cut out for them turning the Blount's house into a stadium-size home with a low-maintenance lawn.

Chip and Joanna Gaines take Kristin and Brandon Haire on a tour through the Western Hills neighborhood in Waco, Texas. Western Hills is an established neighborhood near Lake Waco, known for its big trees and big lots. This is the first house for the Haires to own together, and they're looking for a home to settle down in to create memories with their two young children. They're looking for a home with 4-bedrooms, an open floor plan and a nice yard for their kids to play in. Chip Gaines says the Haires aren't asking for the moon but they're going to get it within a $210,000 budget.

Chip and Joanna Gaines take Angela and Yanett Silva on a tour through three houses in the small town of Lorena, Texas. Yanett left Venezuela to offer her children a better life. Then Angela moves her mother Yanett and son Julian from Tallahassee to Texas to pursue a dream job at a spacecraft design company based in Waco. This three-generation family is ready to settle down, and is looking for a house to share with at least 3-bedrooms and two baths, and plenty of space for everyone inside and out. They want a home that offers a country lifestyle but with a modern edge.

Chip and Joanna Gaines take Jill and Josh Barrett on a tour through three houses in the established neighborhood of Wooded Acres. They're looking for a house that will accommodate Josh's four kids and the couple's new baby on the way. The Barretts want a home with a unique look, an open floor plan and an amazing kitchen. They'd like a house that's fun and fresh. A house that's a new slate for them representing their new life together. The Gaines offer an eclectic group of houses from traditional to contemporary.

Chip and Joanna Gaines take Genny and Russ Davis on a tour through three homes in Woodway, Texas. Woodway is considered "upper-crust", an established neighborhood with older homes, large trees and massive yards. They want to move to Woodway because of the city's reputable school district. However, Genny Davis is a real estate agent and Russ builds new homes for a living and they are a bit reluctant to move into a fixer upper - a fact that distresses Chip but inspires Joanna. Will the Davis' choose the "Tree House" with the pool, massive fireplace and monster tree blocking the front door? Or will it be the asymmetrical "Stonehenge House" Chip says looks like an airplane and Russ describes as over-the-top masculine? Or maybe they'll choose the third house with the shared driveway on a quiet cul-de-sac? The drama escalates when an unexpected permit problem costing 30,000 dollars threatens to turn this fixer upper into a flop. Will the Davis' jump ship and build a new home instead?

Chip and Joanna Gaines take Mike and Val McKenzie on a tour through three houses in nearby Woodway, Texas. Mike, a former Baylor University football player, works in insurance and his wife Val, an artist, works from home. Mike and Val have been living outside of town and are looking for a new place close to their church, the kids' schools and also a grocery store. They want an open concept house with plenty of room for their three kids to play. Mike and Val have a budget of $300,000 and are looking for a house with at least four beds, two baths and a large backyard.

Baylor University graduates Chip and Joanna Gaines meet with two other Baylor alumni, Lori and Baron Craft, to tour three different houses in Waco. The Crafts live in Houston, but are looking to purchase a second home near the university in hopes that their 12-year-old son will one day live in the house and continue the family's Baylor legacy. With a budget of $160,000, Baron and Lori are looking for a three-bedroom house full of Old Waco character. The first house they visit, the Brick House, has an awkward closed-in porch in front that looks like it belongs in the back of the house. Inside, however, the house has a lot of old character and built-in detail that holds a lot of potential. The next house they tour is the Power House in one of the most historical neighborhoods in Waco. While the house has a lot of vintage charm and a huge backyard, the house would need all new electrical wiring, which means a lot more work. Is the character of the Power House worth the amount of renovation it requires? The Black and White House is the last stop on the Craft's tour. It lacks some of the character of the other two houses, but with beautiful hardwood floors and a cute layout on the inside, Joanna assures the Crafts that their budget is more than enough to transform the space into the house of their dreams. The Crafts face a tough decision: Which house will become their new home away from home?
