Charlie Kawas

General contractor and master craftsman Charlie Kawas is the host of Botched Homes, where he rescues South Florida homeowners from some of the region's most disastrous renovation projects. Known for tackling the area's toughest construction projects, Charlie brings decades of hands-on experience and New York City grit to every renovation.

Charlie is a licensed general contractor, television host and social media educator. He is also the owner of CK Construction, a successful remodeling business serving clients throughout New York City’s five boroughs. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, Charlie began working in construction at a young age alongside his uncle before joining the New York City District Council of Carpenters Union.

After completing his apprenticeship, he won first place and the Golden Hammer Award, a top honor for craftsmanship in the union. Seeking a better future for his wife and two daughters, Charlie relocated his family to Jupiter, Florida. With little more than his truck, tools and years of experience, he rebuilt his business from the ground up, earned his Florida general contractor license and established CK Construction as a respected high-end residential construction company.

Known for his hands-on expertise, passion for teaching and engaging social media presence, Charlie was selected to host HGTV’s Botched Homes. While filming season one, he was diagnosed with cancer. Despite the challenges he faced, he remained committed to his family, his clients and the show. He continued working through treatment with the same determination that has defined his career. Today, Charlie continues to build beautiful homes, educate others and inspire people through his resilience, determination and remarkable personal journey.
