The walnut island and marble-topped breakfast table offer two spots to dine in the eat-in kitchen. Keep mealtime casual at the bar or settle in with friends and family around the table.
The client wanted a classic kitchen that was also very clean-cut. To achieve this, designer Peter Salerno used a white-painted perimeter with a long walnut island, coupled with marble countertops and white beams on the ceiling to pull it all together. The high contrast in the kitchen helps keep it looking clean.
A subtle mix of shapes keeps the kitchen looking interesting. Curvy countertops and arched windows offset the linear coffered ceiling and traditional cabinetry.
At the breakfast table, wood-trimmed dining chairs achieve a high-contast look suitable for the kitchen. The round dining table strikes a casual but modern note.
To create a cohesive feel, the dark taupe hue from the kitchen was used in the polished sitting room. Large matted frames on either side of the fireplace create a crisp sense of symmetry.
