Glamorous, Feminine Nail Salon Work Stations

The workspace in this salon is symmetrical. In the center of the space, white modern nail booths sit in a line. At each of these, a gold Midcentury Modern chair provides customers with a comfortable place to sit. Above each booth is a modern white light fixture with gold interior, accenting the glamour of the space. On either side of the nail booths, four cream armchairs sit in front of pedicure booths, making the space feel even more relaxing. The gold fixtures in the space give the salon floor touches of glam, while the colors of the seating adds to the feminine vibe of the space.

Reading Nook With Pendant

Ipe wood, a flame-resistant, durable wood from South America, is placed in a horizontal pattern for this sliding fence. The design by architect Guy Ayers provides privacy when desired but blurs the lines between interior and exterior when open.

Elegant Midcentury Modern Reception Area at Paintbar

The Midcentury Modern design in the reception area makes the space feel lush and elegant. Two over-sized, plush velvet, brown and gold chairs give customers a comfortable place to sit while they wait for their appointments. The pink and white patterned rug ties the space together, while gold accents add glamour to the space.

Cool Horizontal Fiberglass Fence

A fence around a tennis court on a Palm Springs, Calif., property is made of 2-foot square fiberglass panels that allow breezes to flow through. The client wanted an outdoor environment that was “groovy, cool and sexy," according to landscape architect Steve Martino and Associates. The project, with mid-century modern elements in desert style, won an American Society of Landscape Design award.
