Glamorous, Feminine Nail Salon Work Stations

The workspace in this salon is symmetrical. In the center of the space, white modern nail booths sit in a line. At each of these, a gold Midcentury Modern chair provides customers with a comfortable place to sit. Above each booth is a modern white light fixture with gold interior, accenting the glamour of the space. On either side of the nail booths, four cream armchairs sit in front of pedicure booths, making the space feel even more relaxing. The gold fixtures in the space give the salon floor touches of glam, while the colors of the seating adds to the feminine vibe of the space.

Elegant Midcentury Modern Reception Area at Paintbar

The Midcentury Modern design in the reception area makes the space feel lush and elegant. Two over-sized, plush velvet, brown and gold chairs give customers a comfortable place to sit while they wait for their appointments. The pink and white patterned rug ties the space together, while gold accents add glamour to the space.

Blue Mid-century Modern Living Room with Neutral Hardwood Floors

The original hardwood flooring has been restored and given a new and lighter finish that better highlights the natural grain. The floors had to be sanded three times to remove the old, dark stain, allowing the natural color and grain of the wood to show through.

Cream Chairs and Gold and Brown Stools Complement Feminine Design

The pedicure booths are just as elegant as the reception area. With large, lush, cream chairs and blush and cream accent pillows, this space fits perfectly with the feminine design of the space. Padded brown and gold stools give technicians a comfortably place to sit, while still fitting the glamorous and elegant design vision of the space.

Open Living Area With Vault Ceiling

This open living area provides space for a budding art collection that is functional for everyday life and entertaining. Within the constraints of the original footprint, the design team was able to remove walls, increase the size of glass doors and windows, rearrange closets and vault ceilings to create space out of seemingly nowhere.

Retro Serving Station With Tray and Glassware

You can unify a shelf display by function, too. Mary Carol Garrity, author of Feather Your Nest: It's All in the Details and the owner of Nell Hill's, an accessories emporium in Atchison, Kan., likes to turn a shelf into a bar or a serving station. "Take out the shelf above to create more room, then top a tray with pretty cut-crystal decanters and glassware," she suggests. Design by Emily Henderson.
