About the Show

On a recent vacation to the old country, Olympic figure skater Brian Boitano discovered his Italian family, and the town his relatives migrated from. He also discovered, and ultimately purchased an old family home in desperate need of repair. Now Brian is taking it upon himself to totally renovate the home as a summer villa for family and friends to enjoy, and we are there for the journey!

Brian Boitano travels to the small village of Favale di Malvaro in northern Italy, the town where the Boitano name originated, to bring an old family home back to life and create his dream vacation home. The nearly 100-year-old house is in major disrepair with no electric or plumbing so this is not going to be easy! Plus, Brian is shocked to discover his cousins, Alma and Maria, secretly removed all the furniture in the house. When the construction finally begins, Brian first knocks down some interior walls to create an open floor plan. Once the demolition is complete, Brian and his contractor Enzo, build his dream kitchen and a stunning banquette area, perfect for big family breakfasts.

Renovations to the kitchen are complete and the dining room is next up. With help from his nieces, some clever painting techniques, and several trips to the Italian flea markets, Brian creates the perfect dining room to complement his beautiful new kitchen. Brian also transforms the dingy adjacent space into a warm, cozy, and welcoming living room ? complete with a hand built freestanding fireplace.

Brian Boitano travels to the small village of Favale di Malvaro in northern Italy, the town where the Boitano name originated, to bring an old family home back to life and create his dream vacation home. The construction work on his Italian villa is almost complete, but Brian is under a tight deadline to finish the final renovations. In less than a week, all the Italian Boitanos are coming over to celebrate the completion of his renovations with a home cooked Italian feast. It's a race against time as the crew builds the outside piazza, and Brian furnishes and decorates the bedrooms.
