As season 3 of Rock the Block draws to a close, you might be left wondering what goes on behind the scenes while filming. Jenny Marrs, one of this season’s competitors, took to Instagram to answer all our burning questions about the show.

Why do the Designers Wear the Same Clothes Every Episode?

“The reason behind the outfit consistency is to help the editors out,” Jenny wrote on an Instagram post. “If we changed each day, it would have been so hard for them to edit the show and keep track of who was wearing what on which day in which room.”

To stay fresh, the designers each brought several pairs of the same clothes and did lots of laundry while filming. According to Jenny, Egypt Sherrod even had to get a new pair of boots halfway through filming because the job site was so hard on them.

Did the Teams Actually Complete Each Challenge In One Week?

According to Jenny's recent Instagram post, the number of days varied slightly depending on the room. In week four, for example, they had only four days to complete the F.R.O.G. and loft spaces.

Jenny also revealed the teams were so busy and focused on the room for each week that they didn’t have time to work ahead. Subcontractors would sometimes move ahead and paint additional rooms, for example. Otherwise, Dave and Jenny were down to the wire each week. For bigger pieces like kitchen cabinets or counters, designers placed orders in advance, but everything else was ordered with overnight shipping.

Did Contestants Ever Make Changes to a Room After It Was Done?

Nope! Not even a small decor detail, Jenny confirmed. After each weekly challenge was over, the designers weren’t allowed to backtrack.

What was Dave's Best Prank On Set?

Dave pulled a bunch of silly pranks on the other designers to add some laughter and levity to the stressful competition.

"One afternoon, he marked all of the restrooms with an 'out of order' sign with the exception of one," Jenny says. "In that 'working' restroom, he placed a plastic — but realistic looking — piece of poo right on the seat. We hid and watched as Egypt, then Mike, then Leslie all opened the door to use the restroom and then quickly turned around with a look of disgust and confusion."

Another time, Dave placed fake bullet holes on Keith and Evan's French doors and marked the driveway with "crime scene" tape.

Did the Entire Marrs Family Move to Charleston During Filming?

Jenny and Dave brought their five children to Charleston for an epic family adventure while they competed on the show.

“Our prayer was that the time away would be filled with pockets of rest and joy and that all of our memory banks would be full to overflowing by the end of our six weeks in South Carolina,” Jenny wrote on Instagram.

Jenny says she worked closely with the kids' teachers back home so that they were able to keep up with school during the day. "They gave up so much to come — normal school days, sports, seeing their friends," she says. "But we knew it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience life in a new place together."

Are Keith and Evan as Adorable In Person?

"They're even more adorable in person," Jenny wrote in a comment on Instagram. No surprise there!
