Organizer Amy Rehkemper has her work cut out for her in this cluttered basement. She'll have to bring her waders just to walk through.Jenny and J.B. Howard need help getting their basement in order. The room, which has been split into a 29 x 14-foot play area and 14 x 14-foot office area, is littered with magazines, videos and tons of toys.
They enlist the help of organizer Amy Rehkemper to return their basement to the functional space it was intended to be. She begins by asking the Howards to sort through everything in the room and decide what should stay and what should go. She wants the room cleared to give her a clean slate for implementing her plan.
Rehkemper's objective is to turn the larger play area into a grownup space that includes built-in shelving, plenty of seating and an entertainment center. The rest of the room is to be a child-safe playroom with bright, cheery colors and lots of low storage units for the children's things. .
