A Small Bedroom Packed With Cool, Caribbean Colors
Bright hues and a clever layout transform a small bedroom into a larger-than-life spot to kick back and relax.
Caribbean Blues With Pops of Pink
This small, feminine bedroom is bright and cheery thanks to teal walls and accents of coral and hot pink.
Since the 11-foot wall behind the bed couldn't accommodate a pair of nightstands, a black lacquer console table was used instead.
With so much blue on the walls, a mix of patterns was used to break up its intensity. Playful pillows introduce a mix of large-scale stripes and medium-scale lattice while a nubby, aqua blanket adds texture.
Mirrored Console Table/Nightstand
The console table/nightstand offers concealed storage, open space to keep things tidy in baskets and surface area for frames and lighting.
Chic Sitting Area
A vintage dresser, 70's lamps and a comfy chair create an inviting sitting area across from the bed.
Custom Look on a Budget
For a custom touch without the custom price tag, a sprayed coat of teal lacquer gave new life to a vintage dresser.
An ombre area rug made of New Zealand wool adds warm contrast against the cool-toned walls. Since hot pink is an intense color, the ombre effect prevents the pink from overwhelming the space.
A Masculine Touch
To prevent the space from looking too feminine, the homeowner added draperies in a gender-neutral black and white stripe as well as inverted box pleats to evoke a menswear look.
A classic modern tulip table adds a touch of organic material and sculptural shape to the seating area.
A comfy, upholstered chair adds a preppy touch to the room with a large-scale gingham print in white and hot pink.
