Designer Naomi Stein

Naomi Stein is the principal designer at Design Manifest, a Philadelphia-based firm that grew out of her father’s business as a contractor. Since her father’s retirement in 2016, Stein continues to lead the family business, designing luxurious interiors on Philadelphia’s posh Main Line, while bringing her own unique blend of modern and vintage style to her home. Located in the Washington Square West neighborhood in downtown Philadelphia, Stein’s condo offers a perfect mix of contemporary design mixed with modern, vintage and global elements.

Open Plan

The living room is an open-plan affair, with a view to the condo’s dining room and kitchen. Stein has opted for a soothing color palette of earth tones in her space, combining various shades of brown, black and forest green against a white backdrop.

Global Patterns

One of Stein’s strengths as a designer is her ability to mix patterns. Here, a side chair reupholstered in Bogolan, or “mud cloth,” from Mali creates an unexpected moment that gives the room a global, sophisticated feel.

Reclaimed Vintage

This stunning dresser is a vintage piece which was restored and repainted by the designer. Its intriguing block pattern contributes to the overall pattern story of the room, contrasting with the more feminine pieces in the room, like the pink gourd lamps.
